<description>Publicis Seattle - Associate Creative Director

This was an interesting project, YouTube has developed a program where their top content creators will generate videos for large volume advertisers who are willing to take a chance. We were not able to be directly involved in the filming or editing but were able to develop a creative brief, give feedback to concepts and help the content creators generate an idea that was relevant to the T-Mobile audience but still stayed true to the artist's audience.

It was kinda like driving a Oldsmobile full of teenagers down a mud road and trying not to land in a ditch. Fun but fraught with the potential for disaster. Came out all right.

We didn't want to do a typical behind the scenes so we pushed them to a more creative mockumentary style.

Live Performance and Recording

Over 5 months in the making, one of the funnest projects of my career. We started with an idea of having a mass of women in magenta dresses do SOMETHING. Over time we concepted and collaborated with the client and the production company a special live event in Woodfield Mall near Chicago during the beginning of the holiday season.

An all new arrangement of the classic Home for the Holidays was created by Paul Mirkovich (of The Voice) and then recorded with a very talented bunch of women who also learned choreography in very short time to pull off one of T-Mobile USA's most successful branding initiatives ever.

Behind the scenes video:

Several videos were created and uploaded by spectators. These accounted for hundreds of thousands of views on their own. This is my personal favorite:

Mizuno had developed a great piece of hardware to accurately determine the perfect shaft for a golfer to use with their irons. The problem was the software that went with it was clunky, unreliable and didn't work hard to sell consumers on Mizuno irons.

We stepped in and helped create a clean, easy to follow fitting experience that would reinforce Mizuno's image as the leader in golf technology. The fitters app is used by over 700 pro shops and golf outlets to create custom clubs for golfers who want the very best.

Typically the app is broadcast on a large screen in a pro shop or golf store and can even be carried out to the range at country clubs on a laptop.

The app functions on and off line and delivers synced data to Mizuno while also receiving software updates when shaft and club models change.

Development and wizardry by MODE in Charlotte, NC. (good people who do great work)

Another photographic series related to the Lots project. This one focuses more on these left over islands within abandoned lots. I was attracted to them as found sculptures and how they look so much like the forms of Lynda Benglis and other post structuralist artists of the 60s.

Quite a bit of retouching involved.

A series of photographs I'm working on right now. Still figuring out what it's all about but I find the abandoned, overgrown fast food restaurants to be oddly compelling. I'm also delving a lot deeper into how architectural photo retouchers do their magic and employing some of it on these disheveled structures.

This is a nice little site for Top of the Hill, an iconic restaurant in downtown Chapel Hill, NC. They have their own brewery that churns out fantastic brews all year long and a distillery in the works.

We designed and developed the site in house and also did all of the photography and retouching ourselves...and scored lots of free beer and good food.

This is a sample of a large personal art project I created in 2009. Mostly they are about the alien quality of technology and how we are more and more removed from the actual construction of these high tech devices and how little about them we understand. They are inspired by electron microscope images of bugs and lots of sci-fi movies and formalist art of the 60s and 70s.
