Tracings
An ongoing series of drawings created tracing unfolded boxes with various pencils and markers. Through the formal process of exploring how the shapes and media could create images, they've come to remind me and relate to masks and figures seen in many cultures going back through time. Specifically they've lead me to funerary masks and how symmetry, representation, material, adornment seem to intuitively lead into the world of spells, ritual, and transcendence.
